VetHealth Broad Spectrum oil - safe for your pets!

As the popularity of cannabis products grows, so does its availability for pet owners. We are still only talking about Hemp.

However, in the US, between 2018 and 2019, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals reported a 765% increase in calls to the Poison Control Center for pets exposed to cannabis! Unfortunately, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) recommended that veterinarians not discuss the use of cannabis products with pet owners because, as recently as 2020, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned veterinarians that there are too many "data gaps" and safety concerns" of cannabinoid therapies for animals.

This has encouraged pet owners to create their own "protocols," so many give their pets products made from "medical cannabis" (marijuana, which is legally available in the US with a doctor's prescription). However, it is a practice that often has dangerous consequences!

Fortunately, the federal legalization of Hemp in 2018 has finally opened the door for American veterinarians to research that will demonstrate the effects of cannabidiol on pets. We are not surprised that several clinical studies have shown that CBD treatments help dogs with convulsions, epileptic seizures, and osteoarthritis, as we have observed from the user feedback.

A team of Colorado State University veterinarians, led by Dr. Stephanie McGrath, conducted a randomized, blinded control study in which dogs received twice-daily doses of CBD-infused oil combined with traditional anti-epileptic drugs. The results showed that 89% of dogs receiving CBD had reduced seizures compared to a 43% reduction (with traditional drug therapy alone) in the control group. * A study on osteoarthritis conducted by Cornell University veterinarians, led by Dr. Lauri-Jo Gamble, also involved administering CBD oil to dogs.**

These results proved increased activity levels and a significant reduction in pain.

None of the studies reported significant side effects or poor outcomes, and they generally supported the use of CBD, highlighting the need for more research.

However, the success of using CBD in dogs should not be taken lightly – although dogs can tolerate very low levels of THC, levels higher than the minimum can be counterproductive.

A Canadian study published a year ago*** looked at the prevalence of cannabis-induced toxicity in pets. They concluded that as the legal availability of marijuana increases, there is also an increase in intentional or accidental poisoning of pets with cannabis in North America.

Specifically: "most cannabis poisonings do not result in long-term ill effects ... (but) some deaths have been reported." Although oral consumption was cited as the most common mechanism of administration, passive inhalation of marijuana smoke was also a significant risk factor, at least according to the highly regarded VCA Animal Hospital.

While CBD is generally considered safe, dogs are susceptible to THC, given the higher abundance of CB1 receptors than humans. Although not specified, deaths related to cannabis poisoning may stem from high THC concentration or underlying medical problems or the effects of known harmful foods (which people put in so-called "Space cakes"- marijuana-infused cookies), such as chocolate or raisins.

Dosing THC in pets requires specialized instructions from a trained veterinarian. However, most veterinarians are not qualified to do so – and it is also true that THC, as well as the terpenes (plant ethers) found in most CBD oils, not just those intended for humans, but also for pets - can have unpleasant side effects, especially in cats.

However, we can safely say that you can give VetHealth to your pets without fear - VetHeath oil does NOT contain THC or terpenes.

Since international testing standards organizations have not yet published testing protocols for veterinary cannabis products because they have yet to recognize the enormous needs of the pet cannabis industry - we have made a breakthrough, a safe product for all pets.

Therefore, well-intentioned pet owners in Croatia no longer have to risk choosing the wrong CBD product.

More exhaustive clinical studies will one day show what we see in practice - CBD/CBG molecules are medicinal even without THC and terpenes, especially in animal species sensitive to these ingredients.
